“So, are you going to teach?…”

Nope. Hubby’s staying a professional janitor. He just got an awesome, awesome job at the MTC. We’re feeling really blessed. There’s a few things I love about this new job:

  • new schedule. No more late nights. He starts at 5:45 am. This makes 9am church much easier.
  • more money. He’s making more than a lot of college grads (he’s not one yet). That’s awesome on so many levels. It’s almost double his previous and it also means I can stay home with the boy as long as I want.
  • location. Less than 2 miles. He gets exercise and saves the environment and wallet. This has been a goal for a long time. However, like most people, we were unable to do this because of housing costs. So glad we bought our house last year!
  • environment. He loved LOVED the MTC. He actually wanted this one over the 7:30 job because of the environment.
  • Benefits. UVSC’s keep getting worse. The church takes care of its people. He’s actually considered a BYU employee, so we get tuition benefits, library, and discounts. Sweet.

Our goals were simple: make enough to create a good savings, keep mom at home, not work on Sundays, and follow our bishop’s counsel (get a day job). We’ve weathered a long storm the last few months and have tried to stay faithful. It hasn’t been easy, but we’re really seeing that the Lord will grant the righteous desires of our hearts if we have patience.

  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  6. Hooray! Now you just need to stop beating up your baby before the Lord takes it all away. Sinners.

But Yay! Now we can hang out more, right? RIGHT???

(Because we only hang out with rich people)

  7. WOOT! Call me, we’ll hang, and celebrate, and get over this emo weather we’ve been having.

  8. And Josh says that Dana can use melatonin to get himself to sleep once or twice if he’s desperate with the schedule change (drops you put under your tongue) but be aware, they’re habit-forming.

  9. *hugs*
