This Day in Fruit: Fuyu Persimmons

I had my first persimmon.  It was okay.  Not as sweet as I expected.  Actually, most of the flavor appears to be in the skin which is slightly bitter but in a good way.  Overall I give 3 our of 5 stars.  Not bad, but nothing to write home about.  I’m probably going to use the rest of them in smoothies.

  2. I’ve seen the word somewhere, but I have no idea what they are. Good for you being brave with the fruits.

  3. You obvious got a not great one. GOOD persimmons are almost TOO sweet… and their skins taste like POISON.

  4. Those are probably hachiya persimmons. I read the skin shouldn’t be eaten on those ones.
