President Hinckley passed away just over an hour ago. I’m shocked (sort of, he was 97), saddened, and happy he’s finally with his wife and God again. I rarely cry over the death of someone I never met, but I am with him. I just keep thinking of that wonderful reunion going on in the spirit world and it makes me so grateful for the gospel. He did so much for the LDS church and for me personally. Words cannot express the love and gratitude I feel for him and his messages throughout the years. Whenever I sing We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet, I will always think of him. I pray we members of the church will remember his legacy and continue to follow his counsel.
I rarely listened to conference, I know that’s not something I’m proud of, but I always would stop and listen to Pres Hinckley. He could give a talk and sound like he was speaking just to you. And he never was that preachy type, but the spirit was always strong with his message.
I tell you this like you didn’t feel it for yourself.

The news really was a shock – he’s the only Church president I’ve ever known. But I’m so glad that he’s finally with his wife again. I always loved his sense of humor! And his temple-building legacy is phenomenal. There were only 47 operating temples when he became prophet – now there are 124, with 12 more announced or under construction. Awesome.
