I’ve never done NaBloPoMo. But I think I’ll do it this year. It’s a whim inspired by Shauna doing it. And everyone knows if Shauna does it, I’ll usually do it too (hello, linkup!). I have hero worship I need to work through. So I’ll post this morning and then again tonight since I’m late. I need a quick topic.
Cheese has been on sale lately at Smiths. First it was Kroger cheese for like $1.50 a package and then Cache Valley cheese (my favorite!) was half off this week. I bought a lot. I think I have like 10 pounds of cheese in my freezer. I’ve always thought about making my own cheese, but it sounds too…smelly. We had friends once who did. You have to buy starter and cheese cloth and different bacteria or whatever to make the kind of cheese you want and I’m thinking…wouldn’t it be easier and possibly cheaper to just wait for Smith’s to have a fantastic cheese sale? But maybe homemade cheese is like homemade bread and way better than anything packaged. Anyone out there know?
I had a friend who used to live in my ward who made her own mozzarella cheese.
She said it cost about the same as buying it on sale, but she did it every once in a while just to develop the skill.
And I quote, “When Armageddon comes, if it gets hard to find cheese for sale, at least I’ll have mozzarella.”
